Unprocessed milk from grass fed mammals in good health is a complete nutritious food that has been consumed by humans for over 10,000 years. By the mid 1800s in the United States, some dairy animals were moved out of the fields, into cities where they lived in unsanitary conditions and were fed diets other than grass. Unhealthy conditions = unhealthy animals = questionable milk. Over time, the pasteurization movement gained traction as a standard for ensuring "safe" milk, even though pasteurization is known to degrade and damage many of the nutrients in milk. Our animals live on pasture eating grass full time and do not require any antibiotics or hormones.
Milk Subscription & Delivery
Bayou Sarah Farms is offering weekly milk subscriptions for customers in the St. Francisville and Baton Rouge areas! Lafayette & New Orleans pick-ups are available once or twice per month. If you are interested in participating in our weekly or bi-weekly raw milk* delivery or pick up service, please provide your information below. Subscriptions are on a first come, first served basis as milk quantities are limited. Our raw milk* is offered at $12/ 59oz. bottle (just shy of ½ gallon).
